Introduction

• Department of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care has been running Pain Clinic since Aug 76, D.A.courses since 1980 , M.D. courses since 1983 ,paramedical courses since 2004 & CCU since June 2002.

• Presently, deptment is headed by Prof & HOD Dr. K.P. Dubey with 2 Associate Prof ., 5 Assistant Prof & 2 Registrar.

• Preanaesthetic clinic (PAC) is held between 8AM - 2PM

• Department consists of administrative block( seminar hall, museum, individual consultant chamber, office) , Major OT complex, 4 bedded preoperative room, 6 bedded recovery room & 6 bedded CCU (Equipped with Ventilator, multipara, defibrillator & ABG Analyzer), 1PAC room, pain clinic.

• Teaching & training of undergraduates, postgraduates, paramedical, phsysiotherapy & RCH procedures.

Facilities

• 26 OPERATION THEATRES well equipped with central pipeline for O2, N2O, Air & Vaccum, Boyle’s machine with anaesthesia ventilators , multipara , defibrillator, emergency drugs & equipments, infusion pump, PCA pump, blood warmer, nerve stimulator for-
  - elective surgical procedures in Obs & Gynec, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Orthopaedic
  - emergency surgical procedures in Casualty Septic OT
  - trauma, cancer surgery
  - day care surgery and diagnostic procedures in BERA, ECT,TT, Radiotherapy, Radio diagnosis
  - paediatric, plastic, burn, and neurosurgical procedures

• Two bed intensive care unit with ABG analyzer

• Pain clinic pain management on consultation basis

• PAC clinic

• VVIP duties

• Resuscitation

Achievement & Research -

• Conducted Workshops on Central venous cannulation on April 2006 & 6TH WISACON on Oct 2008.

• DR. T.C. Choudhary gold medal awarded to Dr.Shafika Niyazi in 1985, Dr Parneeta Jaiswal in 2003 & Dr Divya rani Tigga in 2008.
